Brass coffee table with leather inserts, from concept to reality

We just finished this beautiful brass coffee table for a client. It's a large piece, and quite heavy, but the details and design are worth it.

When we work with our clients, after all details are determined, the proposal signed and the deposit is received, we get to work. Usually this begins with sketch - we don't use any computer generated design programs. We are old school, so this is a hand sketch with as many details as possible included. Here's an example for this particular project (with the proprietary details removed):

We send this to the client for approval, or revision, and do not go into production until it is approved in writing. After approval, materials are sourced & procured; depending on the piece, a full scale sketch, or template, is made for our workshop - and we go from there! Timeframe depends on the current workroom schedule, production deadlines, and the type of piece we are making.

The table top and bottom shelf were fabricated in leather - 3 leather panels actually - with stitch detail on each panel, and the brass was finished with a antique patina.

It's so fulfilling to see projects come to fruition, and we're sure this table looks lovely in its' new home!
