Custom Sectional Sofa

We've been neglecting the blog, but not our clients! It has been a busy spring in the workshop. We recently finished this sectional sofa for a client in Aspen, Colorado. At 11', it's to be a nice, comfortable spot in the family room of a mountain home. Upholstered in a Nancy Corzine velvet, it has a recessed base, which makes this large piece appear to 'float' above the floor.

Restored: French leather club chairs

We just finished the reupholstery of 2 classic French leather club chairs. The leather was torn and worn, after decades of use. We completely restored both chairs, preserving the integrity of this simple & elegant style.

As with the original chairs, we used a 'naked' hide that we patina'd by hand to achieve the vintage finish as seen below. The hide on the top left is the original, the bottom is our work and the naked hide is shown to the right. 

Custom ottoman

We just finished this custom ottoman for a client - it is fabricated in cognac leather and features large nail head trim and concealed recessed castors. One large tufted button on top finishes it and the ottoman is ready for the clients' family room.

Custom full size bed

This is a custom full size bed that we just finished for a client. The headboard and attached base are white oak which was then stained dark and the box spring was covered in linen.

One of the beautiful details on this bed are the rounded front corners and the top stitch detail on the linen covered box spring. This is similar to a bed we made last year, except as a twin size.

Custom suede & linen sofa

We just finished this custom sofa for a client, fabricated in suede and linen. It's not often that you would think about pairing a fabric with a skin, but if chosen well, it can be a beautiful combination.  This particular sofa has a single seat cushion, two back cushions, two side cushions and two throw pillows.

The suede covered base is recessed, giving the sofa an illusion of floating above the floor.

As with all our pieces, every step of the fabrication and upholstery is all done by hand.

New website for Classic Design

We've been working behind the scenes to redesign our website, which went live yesterday! Much of the content is the same, but there were some tweaks that were made to allow visitors to view our pieces with greater ease. Our gallery is now broken down into categories, and we explain our expertise and capabilities in the new 'what we do' section.

Perhaps one of the most exciting additions is the configuration of our new mobile sites! Our website can now be viewed with ease on your iPhone & iPad. You can also add our mobile icon to your iPhone or iPad homepage as a great shortcut to visit us often!

Custom Dining Room Chairs

We recently finished 8 custom dining room chairs for a client. They were reminiscent of 1940's French style with leather seats & backs and walnut frames.

The x-shaped base is both graceful and sophisticated, while the leather upholstery balances the look.

As always, the execution of the design and attention to detail is one of our greatest strengths.
