Custom Curved Banquette sofa

We just finished this custom curved banquette sofa. This piece was customized & designed specifically for a particular area of a home, which required our team to take an on site template to make sure it fit exactly where it needed to fit.

In the workroom...

This is what happens here on a almost daily basis - lots of hand sewing, attention to detail. This is what we do...have a wonderful weekend!

Brass coffee table with leather inserts, from concept to reality

We just finished this beautiful brass coffee table for a client. It's a large piece, and quite heavy, but the details and design are worth it.

When we work with our clients, after all details are determined, the proposal signed and the deposit is received, we get to work. Usually this begins with sketch - we don't use any computer generated design programs. We are old school, so this is a hand sketch with as many details as possible included. Here's an example for this particular project (with the proprietary details removed):

We send this to the client for approval, or revision, and do not go into production until it is approved in writing. After approval, materials are sourced & procured; depending on the piece, a full scale sketch, or template, is made for our workshop - and we go from there! Timeframe depends on the current workroom schedule, production deadlines, and the type of piece we are making.

The table top and bottom shelf were fabricated in leather - 3 leather panels actually - with stitch detail on each panel, and the brass was finished with a antique patina.

It's so fulfilling to see projects come to fruition, and we're sure this table looks lovely in its' new home!

Custom Banquette Sofa

This is a custom banquette sofa that we just finished for a client in Northern California. A banquette sofa typically does not have arms, and are usually seen in restaurants, window seats or kitchen table nooks. Nowadays, many designers are using them as seating in spaces such as living rooms, family rooms and great rooms and they tend to lend a slight informal air to the area, depending on the fabric that is used.

In this case, the designer used a custom dyed & washed linen for the body, and a custom silk velvet for the single seat cushion & back pillows. Both the seat, and the back cushions, have light tufting. It's a simply gorgeous piece; we hope the client loves it!

White Leather Custom Bed

This California King custom bed we just finished is fabricated in white leather, with stitching details on the headboard & box spring frame.

There is a metal plate detail across the top of the headboard, which is replicated in the recessed base as well. Both pieces have a hand patina finish that contrasts beautifully with the crispness of the white leather.

Before & After: 19th Century French Settee

We just finished a complete restoration & reupholstery of an antique 19th century French settee. When it arrived, it was covered in the original muslin, with the original horsehair underneath.

Our client chose a custom embroidered horsehair fabric from Holland & Sherry, which had to first be seamed & positioned on the settee before going back to the company for the actual embroidery.

The horsehair fabric was used on the seat & inside back, and then a vintage floral fabric was used for the complete exterior and ramp (the section running along the top from the arms). A braided cord was applied in keeping with the period style.

We cleaned up the wood legs, and love how this period piece has a new fresh look!
